Bruschetta Topping

Method

Prepare the Bruschetta Topping

  1. 1

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Add Basil and Garlic

Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with tomatoes. Mince the garlic cloves and add them in as well.

  3. 3

    Season the Mixture

Pour in the extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Sprinkle salt and black pepper over the mixture. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

  4. 4

    Let it Marinate

Allow the bruschetta topping to sit at room temperature for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Prepare the Bread

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 6

    Slice the Bread

Cut the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  3. 7

    Bake the Bread Slices

Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crispy.

  4. 8

    Rub with Garlic

Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and immediately rub the top of each slice with a garlic clove for added flavor.

Assemble and Serve

  1. 9

    Top the Bread

Spoon the prepared bruschetta topping generously onto each slice of toasted bread.

  2. 10

    Serve Immediately

Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is still warm. Enjoy!
