Salad Base

Method

Prepare Croutons

  1. 1

    Make the Croutons

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the bread slices into small cubes. In a bowl, toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt until evenly coated. Spread the croutons on a baking sheet in a single layer.

  2. 2

    Bake the Croutons

Bake the croutons in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Stir halfway through baking for even browning. Remove from the oven and let cool.

Make Caesar Dressing

  1. 3

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, black pepper, and the 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Assemble Caesar Salad

  1. 4

    Prepare the Salad

In a large bowl, chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and the prepared Caesar dressing. Toss gently to combine until the lettuce is well coated with the dressing.

  2. 5

    Add Croutons

Add the homemade croutons to the salad and toss lightly to combine.

  3. 6

    Serve

Transfer the salad to a serving bowl or individual plates. Top with shaved Parmesan cheese for garnish. Serve immediately.
