Method

For the Pub Burger

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Shape the Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal parts and shape each part into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  4. 4

    Add the Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster. On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, the burger patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

For the Pub Fries

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to resemble fries.

  2. 7

    Season the Fries

In a large bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper until evenly coated.

  3. 8

    Bake the Fries

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the seasoned potato strips in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
