Fried Shrimp and Crab Filling
Method
Preparation and Cooking
Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the shrimp, crab meat, masago, mayonnaise, green onions, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Form the Balls
Take small portions of the mixture and form them into balls or patties, about 1-2 inches in diameter.
Bread the Balls
Dip each ball into the beaten egg, then roll in panko breadcrumbs until fully coated. Set aside on a plate.
Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Balls
Carefully place the breaded balls into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried shrimp and crab balls from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with additional mayo or your favorite dipping sauce.
