Method
Taco Filling Preparation
Cook the Beef
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic, sauté until onions are translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Add Ground Beef
Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, approximately 5-7 minutes.
Season the Meat
Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the spices are well incorporated.
Simmer
Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
Taco Assembly
Warm the Tortillas
In a dry skillet or microwave, warm the soft tortillas until pliable.
Assemble the Tacos
On each tortilla, spoon a portion of the seasoned beef mixture. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and a dollop of sour cream.
Add Optional Toppings
If desired, add sliced jalapeños and chopped cilantro to taste.
Serve
Fold the tortillas over the filling and serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
