Method
Preparing the Lady Fingers
- 1
Dipping the Lady Fingers
In a shallow dish, combine the espresso and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Quickly dip each lady finger into the espresso mixture for about 1-2 seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- 2
Layering the Lady Fingers
Arrange the dipped lady fingers in a single layer at the bottom of a serving dish or individual glasses.
Making the Mascarpone Cream
- 3
Whipping the Cream
In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- 4
Combining with Mascarpone
In another bowl, gently mix the mascarpone cheese until smooth. Then fold in the whipped cream mixture, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
Preparing the Chocolate Sauce
- 5
Melting the Chocolate
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over low heat until just simmering. Remove from heat and add the dark chocolate, stirring until completely melted and smooth.
- 6
Layering the Chocolate Sauce
Drizzle a layer of the chocolate sauce over the lady fingers before adding the mascarpone cream.
Assembling the Tiramisu
- 7
Adding Layers
Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the lady fingers and chocolate sauce. Add another layer of dipped lady fingers, followed by another layer of chocolate sauce and the remaining mascarpone cream.
- 8
Chilling
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Serving
- 9
Garnishing
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle chocolate shavings as desired.
- 10

Slice and serve chilled, enjoying the layers of coffee, chocolate, and creamy mascarpone.
