Begin by chilling a cocktail glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and letting it sit while you prepare the cocktail.

In a mixing glass, combine the high-quality bourbon, sweet vermouth, and Angostura bitters.

Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes, and stir the mixture for about 30 seconds until well chilled and properly diluted.
