Michter's Rye Recipe

Preparation

   Prepare the Glass

   Start by chilling an Old Fashioned glass or a lowball glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside.

   Mix the Ingredients

   In a mixing glass, pour 2 oz of Michter's Rye Whiskey, 0.5 oz of simple syrup, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.

   Add Ice

   Fill the mixing glass with ice (approximately 1 cup) and stir the mixture for about 30 seconds until well chilled.

   Prepare the Glass Again

   Discard the ice water from the chilled glass and strain the mixed drink into the glass.

   Garnish

   Express the oils from a piece of orange peel over the drink and then drop the peel into the glass as a garnish.
