Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Mince the garlic cloves and chop the fresh parsley and thyme. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it is fully melted and begins to bubble.

  3. 3

    Add Garlic and Herbs

Add the minced garlic, chopped parsley, and thyme to the melted butter. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant but not browned.

Cooking the Broth

  1. 4

    Add Wine and Water

Pour in the white wine and water into the saucepan. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

  2. 5

    Season the Broth

Add salt and black pepper to the broth. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.

  3. 6

    Simmer the Broth

Allow the broth to simmer uncovered for about 15-20 minutes, letting the flavors combine and the alcohol cook off.

Finishing Touches

  1. 7

    Strain the Broth

Once the broth has simmered, strain it through a fine mesh sieve into a clean bowl to remove the garlic and herbs.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve the Meunière broth hot as a flavorful base for seafood dishes or as a standalone broth.
