Sandwich Components

Steak Truffle Fries

Method

Sandwich Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Caramelized Onions

In a skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Add sliced onions and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and caramelized (about 20-25 minutes).

  2. 2

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the baguette or ciabatta loaf in half. Spread truffle aioli on both sides of the bread. Layer with Gruyere cheese, caramelized onions, house mixed greens, and oven-roasted tomatoes. Close the sandwich.

  3. 3

    Heat the Sandwich

Place the assembled sandwich in a panini press or hot skillet. Cook until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted (about 5-7 minutes).

Steak Truffle Fries Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin fry shapes. Soak the cut fries in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat dry.

  2. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 180°C (350°F). Fry the potatoes in batches until they are golden and crispy (about 5-7 minutes). Drain on paper towels.

  3. 6

    Cook the Steak

Season the steak with salt and black pepper. In a skillet over high heat, sear the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Let it rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.

  4. 7

    Finish the Fries

In a large bowl, toss the hot fries with truffle oil, salt, and black pepper. Serve topped with sliced steak.
