Pasta and Sauce

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ragu

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery, and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Brown the Meat

Add the ground beef and pork to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 7-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Garlic and Wine

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Pour in the red wine and let it simmer until reduced by half.

  4. 4

    Add Tomatoes and Simmer

Add the crushed San Marzano tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. 5

    Cook the Pasta

While the sauce simmers, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tagliatelle and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta.

  6. 6

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Toss the cooked tagliatelle with the Bolognese sauce until well coated.

  7. 7

    Serve

Plate the tagliatelle Bolognese and sprinkle with grated Parmigiano-Reggiano and fresh basil before serving.
