Pizza Dough and Toppings

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Sauce

In a saucepan, simmer the crushed San Marzano tomatoes with dried oregano for about 15 minutes. Season with salt to taste.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Pinsa

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface to a rectangular shape. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza stone. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough.

  4. 4

    Add Toppings

Spread caramelized onions over the sauce, followed by pepperoni slices, and finally sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top.

  5. 5

    Bake the Pinsa

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

  6. 6

    Serve

Garnish with fresh basil if desired. Slice and serve hot.
