Cheese Wedges

Method

Cheese Wedges Preparation

  1. 1

    Cut the Cheese

Cut the mozzarella and pepper jack cheese into wedges, approximately 1-inch thick.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading Station

Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with bread crumbs mixed with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Bread the Cheese Wedges

Take each cheese wedge, coat it in flour, dip it into the beaten eggs, and then roll it in the seasoned bread crumbs until fully coated.

  4. 4

    Fry the Cheese Wedges

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Carefully place the breaded cheese wedges into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Marinara Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Cook the Marinara Sauce

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Then, add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried basil, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 6

    Simmer the Sauce

Allow the sauce to simmer on low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the hot cheese wedges with the marinara sauce for dipping.
