Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Making Cheese Sauce

  1. 2

    Prepare the Cheese Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until golden. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens (about 5-7 minutes). Stir in the cheddar cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth and creamy. Remove from heat and set aside.

Preparing Philly Cheesesteak

  1. 3

    Cook the Steak and Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef steak and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes. Add the sliced onions and green bell peppers, cooking until the vegetables are tender and the beef is fully cooked, about another 3-4 minutes. Top the mixture with slices of provolone cheese and cover the skillet until the cheese melts.

Combining and Serving

  1. 4

    Combine and Serve

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked penne pasta with the cheese sauce, tossing until evenly coated. Serve the pasta topped with the Philly cheesesteak mixture. Enjoy!
