Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Mixing the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Forming the Patty

Divide the mixture into one 10oz portion and shape it into a round patty, about 1 inch thick.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

Cooking on the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for 4-5 minutes on one side.

  2. 4

    Flipping the Patty

Flip the patty and cook for another 4-5 minutes on the other side or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Adding Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place your choice of cheese (American, Swiss, or Pepper Jack) on top of the patty to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Toasting the Bun

While the cheese is melting, lightly toast the burger bun on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 7

    Building the Burger

On the bottom half of the toasted bun, place a leaf of lettuce, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, onion slices, pickles, and condiments (ketchup and mustard) to taste.

  3. 8

    Finishing Touch

Top with the other half of the bun and press gently to secure the ingredients. Serve immediately.
