Cooking Pasta

Cook the Elbow Macaroni
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt to the water and then add the elbow macaroni. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside.
Preparing Cheese Sauce

Add Milk
Gradually pour in the milk while whisking to avoid lumps. Continue to whisk until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.

Incorporate Cheeses
Reduce heat to low and add the shredded cheddar cheese and softened cream cheese. Stir until melted and smooth.

Season the Sauce
Add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to the cheese sauce. Stir to combine.
Combining Ingredients

Mix Pasta and Cheese Sauce
Add the drained elbow macaroni to the cheese sauce. Stir until all the pasta is evenly coated with the creamy cheese mixture.
Optional Topping

Add Toppings (if desired)
If using, sprinkle bread crumbs and grated Parmesan cheese on top of the mac and cheese. You can also drizzle a little melted butter over the top for extra crispiness.

Bake for Extra Crispiness
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mac and cheese to a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
