Method

Cooking Bacon

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the hickory smoked bacon slices until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Flip occasionally for even cooking. Once done, transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Melting Cheese

  1. 2

    Melt the Cheese

Once the bacon is cooked, reduce the heat to low. Place the cheddar cheese in the skillet over the bacon and cover with a lid. Let it melt for about 2-3 minutes.

Preparing Vegetables

  1. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and dry the lettuce, then separate the leaves. Slice the tomato into thick slices and cut the red onion into rings.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 4

    Assemble the McDowell

On each burger bun, spread a generous tablespoon of ranch dressing. Layer with lettuce, a slice of tomato, and a few rings of red onion. Add the melted cheese and bacon on top. Drizzle with BBQ sauce, and place the top half of the bun on the burger.
