Method

Pickles Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice the Pickles

Drain the dill pickles and slice them into 1/4-inch thick chips.

Batter Preparation

  1. 2

    Make the Batter

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Gradually whisk in the cold water until smooth and free of lumps.

Frying

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 4

    Fry the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then carefully place in the hot oil. Fry in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan, for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Comeback Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth and adjust seasoning to taste.
