Preparing the Chili

Cook the Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Combine Ingredients
Transfer the cooked beef and sautéed vegetables to a slow cooker. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and beef broth. Stir until well combined.

Slow Cook
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally.
