Method

Cooking the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the mixture into a small patty, about 3 inches in diameter and 0.5 inches thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 4

    Prepare the Bun

While the patty is cooking, slice the burger bun in half horizontally.

  2. 5

    Spread Condiments

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of the bun and yellow mustard on the top half.

  3. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

Once the patty is cooked, place it on the bottom half of the bun. Top with onion slices, pickle slices, a leaf of lettuce, and a slice of tomato.

  4. 7

    Complete the Burger

Place the top half of the bun on the assembled ingredients to complete the burger.
