Method

Prepare the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and A1 steak sauce. Mix gently until just combined to avoid overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making a small indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cook the Bacon

  1. 3

    Cook Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the hickory smoked bacon slices until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Cook the Burgers

  1. 4

    Grill or Pan-Fry

In the same skillet or on a grill, cook the burger patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Assemble the Burgers

  1. 5

    Prepare Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in the skillet until lightly golden.

  2. 6

    Layer Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer the lettuce, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, two slices of bacon, a slice of tomato, and a generous spoonful of comeback sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
