Wontons

Method

Wonton Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the shrimp, minced garlic, green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Wontons

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the shrimp filling into the center of the wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle, and press to seal. Fold the corners towards each other to form a pouch and seal with water. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

Soup Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Broth

In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to a simmer.

  2. 4

    Cook the Wontons

Carefully add the prepared wontons to the simmering broth. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the wontons float to the surface and the shrimp is cooked through.

  3. 5

    Add Vegetables

Add the halved baby bok choy, scallions, and roasted garlic to the pot. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until the bok choy is tender.

  4. 6

    Season the Soup

Stir in the soy sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust seasoning as necessary.

  5. 7

    Serve

Ladle the soup into bowls, garnish with chopped cilantro, and serve hot.
