Arancini Balls
Marinara Sauce
Method
Prepare Arancini Balls
- 1
Mix the Risotto
In a large bowl, combine the cooked risotto, cubed mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- 2
Form the Balls
With your hands, take a portion of the mixture (about 2 tablespoons) and flatten it slightly in your palm. Place a small cube of mozzarella in the center and mold the risotto around it to form a ball. Repeat until all the mixture is used.

- 4
Bread the Arancini
Roll each ball first in flour, then dip it in the beaten egg, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs. Ensure each ball is fully coated.
- 5
Preheat Air Fryer
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- 6
Spray with Oil
Lightly spray the arancini balls with cooking spray to help them crisp up during cooking.
- 7
Air Fry the Arancini
Place the arancini balls in the air fryer basket in a single layer (you may need to work in batches) and air fry for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Prepare Marinara Sauce
- 8
Cook Garlic
In a small saucepan over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
- 9
Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- 10
Simmer the Sauce
Let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Add fresh basil if using.
- 11
Adjust Seasoning
Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with more salt and pepper if necessary.
