Marinade

Method

Marinade Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to create a smooth marinade.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Paneer

Add the paneer cubes to the marinade and mix gently to coat the paneer evenly. Drizzle lemon juice on top and mix again. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Cooking the Gravy

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Onions

Add the finely chopped onion to the pan and sauté until golden brown.

  3. 5

    Add Tomato Puree

Stir in the pureed tomatoes and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the oil separates from the mixture.

  4. 6

    Incorporate the Spices

Add coriander powder and kasuri methi to the tomato mixture and stir well. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  5. 7

    Add the Cream

Reduce the heat to low, then stir in the cream and mix until well combined. Cook for another 2 minutes.

  6. 8

    Combine with Paneer

Gently add the marinated paneer cubes to the gravy and simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

  7. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
