Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Chop the onion, tomato, and paneer into small pieces. Grate the ginger and mince the garlic.

  2. 2

Soak the Peas (if using dried peas)

If using dried peas, soak them overnight in water. If using frozen peas, rinse them under warm water.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat Oil

In a large pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat.

  2. 4

    Add Cumin Seeds

Once the oil is hot, add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.

  3. 5

    Sauté Onions

Add the finely chopped onions to the pan and sauté until they turn golden brown.

  4. 6

    Add Ginger and Garlic

Stir in the grated ginger and minced garlic, cooking for another minute until fragrant.

  5. 7

    Add Tomatoes

Add the chopped tomatoes to the pan and cook until they soften and break down.

    Add Spices

Stir in turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes until spices are well blended.

  7. 9

    Add Green Peas

Add the green peas to the mixture and stir well. Cook for 5-7 minutes until peas are tender.

  8. 10

    Add Paneer

Gently add the paneer cubes, ensuring not to break them. Cook for another 5 minutes on low heat, allowing flavors to meld.

  9. 11

Sprinkle garam masala over the dish and mix gently. Cook for an additional minute.

  10. 12

    Garnish

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
