Marinade

Cooking Ingredients

Method

Marinade Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large mixing bowl, combine the plain yogurt, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Chicken

Add the boneless chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Charbroil the Chicken

Preheat a grill or charbroiler to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and slightly charred. Set aside.

  2. 4

    Make the Sauce

In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Spices

Pour in the pureed tomatoes, then add coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt to taste. Simmer the mixture for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.

  4. 6

    Combine Chicken and Cream

Add the charbroiled chicken pieces to the sauce. Stir in the heavy cream and cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.

  5. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat and garnish with fresh coriander. Serve hot with rice or naan.
