Method

Biscuits

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in buttermilk until just combined.

  2. 2

    Shape and Bake

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Pat into a 1-inch thick round. Cut into biscuits and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Sausage Gravy

  1. 3

    Cook the Sausage

In a skillet over medium heat, cook Purnell’s sausage until browned, breaking it up with a spatula.

  2. 4

    Make the Gravy

Sprinkle flour over the cooked sausage and stir for 1-2 minutes. Slowly add milk, stirring continuously until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and black pepper.

Fried Eggs

  1. 5

    Fry the Eggs

In a skillet, heat butter or oil over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny. Season with salt and black pepper.
