Herbal Infusion

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Herbal Infusion

In a saucepan, combine water and sugar. Heat gently until sugar is dissolved. Add mint leaves, fir tree needles, elderflower blossoms, and calendula petals. Bring to a simmer and let steep for 30 minutes. Strain the mixture and let it cool.

  2. 2

    Combine with Alcohol

Once the herbal infusion is cool, combine it with high-proof alcohol in a large glass jar. Add citric acid and stir well.

  3. 3

    Infusion Period

Seal the jar and let it infuse in a cool, dark place for at least 2 weeks. Shake the jar gently every few days.

  4. 4

    Strain and Bottle

After the infusion period, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into clean bottles. Seal the bottles and label them.
