Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water (110°F to 115°F), sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well to ensure that the salt is evenly distributed.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix with your hands or a spoon until a dough starts to form.
- 4
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- 5
Let it Rise
Place the kneaded dough into a lightly oiled bowl. Cover it with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
Assembling the Pizza
- 6
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
- 7
Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Divide it into two equal portions if making two pizzas. Roll out or stretch the dough to your desired thickness and shape.
- 8
Add Tomato Sauce
Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over the surface of the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
- 9
Add Cheese and Pepperoni
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce. Top with double cup and char pepperoni slices, arranging them to your preference. Sprinkle dried oregano on top.
- 10
Bake the Pizza
Transfer the assembled pizza to the preheated oven (or onto the pizza stone) and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- 11
Slice and Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a minute, slice it up, and serve hot.
