Method
Breadsticks
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, garlic powder, and dried oregano.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Add the foamy yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- 4
Knead Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 5
Let Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- 6
Shape Breadsticks
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle. Cut into strips to form breadsticks.
- 7
Add Cheese
Place the shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese on top.
- 8
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Monkey Sauce
- 9
Combine Sauce Ingredients
In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, garlic powder, hot sauce, and lemon juice until well blended.
- 10
Season Sauce
Add salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust seasoning as desired.
- 11
Chill
Refrigerate the Monkey Sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
