Ingredients for Auntie Harriet’s French Toast

Method

Instructions for preparing Auntie Harriet’s French Toast

1

Prepare the custard mixture

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

2

Soak the bread

Dip each slice of cinnamon bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for about 30 seconds on each side.

3

Cook the French toast

In a skillet or griddle over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add the soaked bread slices and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Add more butter as needed.

4

Serve

Once cooked, remove the French toast from the skillet and place on plates. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with additional butter on top.
