Pulled Pork Directions
- 1
Prepare the Pork
Trim any excess fat from the pork shoulder and pat it dry with paper towels.
- 2
Make the Rub
In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Rub this mixture all over the pork shoulder.
- 3
Cook the Pork
Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Pour the apple cider vinegar, BBQ sauce, and water over the meat. Add brown sugar on top.
- 4
Slow Cook
Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours, or until the pork is tender and shreds easily with a fork.
- 5
Shred the Pork
Remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Shred the meat using two forks.
- 6
Serve
Serve the pulled pork on buns or with your favorite sides, drizzling extra BBQ sauce on top if desired.
