Method

Prepare the Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Pat the ribs dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cook the Ribs

Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover with another sheet of foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.

Make the BBQ Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well.

  2. 4

    Simmer Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 20 minutes until it thickens, stirring occasionally.

Finish the Ribs

  1. 5

    Glaze the Ribs

Once the ribs are tender, take them out of the oven. Brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over the ribs.

  2. 6

    Broil

Set the oven to broil and cook the ribs for an additional 5-10 minutes until the sauce caramelizes.

Serve

  1. 7

    Plate the Meal

Serve the ribs with baked beans, coleslaw, bread, and dill pickles on the side.
