Method

Preparation and Cooking

1

Make the BBQ Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the tomato sauce, apple cider vinegar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and liquid smoke. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2

Prepare the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper to create the dry rub.

3

Season the Ribs

Rub the dry rub mixture generously over both sides of the ribs. Let the ribs sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

4

Cook the Ribs

Preheat your grill or oven to 225°F (107°C). Place the ribs on the grill and cook slowly for 3-4 hours, or until the meat is tender and pulls away from the bone. If using an oven, wrap the ribs in foil and bake for the same amount of time.

5

Apply BBQ Sauce

In the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the ribs with the prepared BBQ sauce. Allow the sauce to caramelize on the ribs.

6

Serve

Remove the ribs from the grill or oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
