Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Rinse the ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor.

  2. 2

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar. Rub this mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Cook the Ribs

Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, meat side up. Cover with another piece of foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.

  4. 4

    Prepare BBQ Sauce

While the ribs are baking, prepare your house-made red BBQ sauce. You can use your favorite recipe or store-bought sauce if preferred.

  5. 5

    Glaze and Finish

Once the ribs are tender, remove them from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over the ribs and return them to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 15-20 minutes to caramelize the sauce.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then cut between the bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
