Ribs and BBQ Sauce
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove the membrane from the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels. Season the ribs generously with salt and pepper.
- 2
Make the Dry Rub
In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Rub this mixture all over the ribs.
- 3
Cook the Ribs
Wrap the seasoned ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.
- 4
Prepare the BBQ Sauce
While the ribs are baking, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and remaining spices in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until combined and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 5
- 6
Finish Cooking
Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and return the ribs to the oven (uncovered) for an additional 20-30 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
- 7
Serve
Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, then cut the ribs into portions. Serve with extra BBQ sauce and pickles on the side.
