Cooking Steps
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Mix together smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Rub this spice mix all over the ribs and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
Smoke the Ribs
Place the ribs in the smoker and smoke for 4-5 hours, until tender and the meat pulls away from the bone easily. Keep an eye on the temperature and add wood chips as necessary.
- 3
Make the Cornbread
In a bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and stir until just mixed. Pour into a greased baking dish and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes.
- 4
Prepare the Sides
Serve the coleslaw and baked beans in half pint containers or bowls.
- 5
Serve
Once the ribs are done, remove them from the smoker and let them rest for a few minutes. Cut the ribs into portions and serve with the sides and cornbread.
