Pulled Pork Ingredients

Method

Pulled Pork Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and rub the pork rub seasoning evenly all over the meat. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork

Preheat your smoker or grill to a temperature of 225°F (107°C). Place the seasoned pork shoulder on the grill grates and smoke for approximately 1.5 hours per pound or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).

  3. 3

    Moisten the Meat

During the last hour of cooking, mix the apple cider vinegar and water together and spritz the pork every 30 minutes to keep it moist.

  4. 4

    Shred the Pork

Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the smoker and let it rest for 30 minutes. Then, using two forks or meat claws, shred the pork into bite-sized pieces.

  5. 5

    Add BBQ Sauce

Mix the shredded pork with BBQ sauce to taste and serve it on buns or as desired.
