Pork and Seasoning
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Pork
Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and cut it into large chunks for even cooking.
- 2
Season the Pork
In a bowl, mix together smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Rub this seasoning mix all over the pork pieces.
- 3
Set Up the Cooker
Place the seasoned pork in a slow cooker. Pour the apple cider vinegar and water over the pork.
- 4
Cook the Pork
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
- 5
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Use two forks to shred the meat into bite-sized pieces.
- 6
Serve
Serve the pulled pork on its own, or with buns, coleslaw, or your favorite barbecue sauce.
