Brisket Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Trim any excess fat from the Angus beef brisket, leaving a thin layer for moisture.

  2. 2

    Make the Rub

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and brown sugar.

  3. 3

    Season the Brisket

Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, ensuring it is evenly coated.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C) and add your choice of wood chips for flavor.

  5. 5

    Smoke the Brisket

Place the brisket in the smoker, fat side up, and smoke for about 1.5 hours per pound, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 195°F (90°C).

  6. 6

    Add Liquid Smoke

During the last hour of smoking, mix the liquid smoke with water and baste the brisket for added flavor and moisture.

  7. 7

    Rest the Brisket

Once fully cooked, remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the brisket against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
