Tarte Flambé Pizza Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Onions

Slice the sweet onion into thin rings and set aside.

  3. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Arkansas bacon until crispy. Remove from the skillet and let it drain on paper towels. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.

  4. 4

    Roll Out the Dough

On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a thin rectangle or circle, about 1/4 inch thick.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Pizza

Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a baking sheet or pizza peel. Spread a layer of crème fraîche over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Top with the sliced onions and crumbled bacon. Season with salt and black pepper.

  6. 6

    Bake the Pizza

If using a pizza stone, carefully transfer the pizza onto the stone. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the crème fraîche is bubbly.

  7. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the tarte flambé pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly. Sprinkle fresh chopped chives on top before slicing and serving.
