Dumpling Wrapper

Method

Dumpling Wrapper Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add boiling water while stirring with a fork until the mixture comes together into a dough.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Roll Out the Wrapper

After resting, divide the dough into small pieces and roll each piece into a thin circle, about 3 inches in diameter.

Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, combine ground pork, finely chopped green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Dumpling Assembly and Cooking

  1. 5

    Fill the Dumplings

Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half, and pinch the edges to seal tightly.

  2. 6

    Pan Frying

Heat cooking oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place the dumplings in the skillet and fry until the bottom is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 7

    Steam the Dumplings

Add 1 cup of water to the skillet, cover, and let the dumplings steam for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through.

  4. 8

    Serve

Remove the dumplings from the skillet and serve hot with dipping sauce of your choice.
