Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Edamame

Rinse the edamame under cold water to remove any dirt or impurities. Ensure that the pods are fresh and vibrant green.

  2. 2

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  3. 3

    Add Edamame

Once the water is boiling, add the rinsed edamame to the pot. Make sure the beans are fully submerged in the water.

  4. 4

    Season with Salt

Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the boiling water with edamame for flavor.

  5. 5

    Steam the Edamame

Allow the edamame to boil for 5 to 7 minutes until the pods are tender but still firm. They should be bright green in color.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Carefully drain the edamame in a colander. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature.
