Vegetable Mixture

Breading

Method

Prepare the Vegetable Mixture

  1. 1

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into small cubes. Boil them in salted water until fork-tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash them in a large bowl.

  2. 2

    Cook the Vegetables

In a pan, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add finely chopped onion and garlic; sauté until translucent. Add grated carrot and green peas, cooking for about 5 minutes until tender. Stir in chopped cilantro, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked vegetable mixture to the mashed potatoes and mix thoroughly. Allow the mixture to cool for about 10 minutes.

Form and Bread the Croquettes

  1. 4

    Shape the Croquettes

Once the mixture has cooled, divide it into 6 equal portions. Shape each portion into a small oval or round croquette.

  2. 5

    Prepare Breading

In a shallow bowl, mix the flour and water to create a thick paste. In another bowl, beat the egg.

  3. 6

    Coat the Croquettes

Dip each croquette first into the flour paste, then into the beaten egg, and finally roll it in breadcrumbs until fully coated.

Fry the Croquettes

  1. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat until hot (about 350°F or 175°C).

  2. 8

    Fry the Croquettes

Carefully place 2-3 croquettes in the hot oil, frying them for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
