Method

Preparing the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a medium pot, bring 16.9 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Brew Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 4 tablespoons of Thai tea leaves. Stir gently.

  3. 3

    Steep

Cover the pot and let the tea steep for about 10-15 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

  4. 4

    Strain Tea

After steeping, strain the tea leaves using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large pitcher.

Sweetening the Tea

  1. 5

    Add Sugar

While the tea is still warm, stir in 4 tablespoons of sugar until completely dissolved.

  2. 6

    Mix in Milks

Add 2 tablespoons of condensed milk and 2 tablespoons of evaporated milk to the sweetened tea. Stir until well combined.

Serving

  1. 7

    Prepare Glasses

Fill serving glasses with ice cubes (about 1 cup per glass).

  2. 8

    Pour Tea

Pour the prepared Thai tea over the ice. You can adjust the milk and sugar to taste.

  3. 9

    Garnish

Optionally, garnish with mint leaves before serving.
