Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Green Beans
Wash the fresh green beans under cold water. Trim the ends of each green bean by snapping them off or using a knife.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour in the first bowl, beat the eggs in the second bowl, and mix the breadcrumbs with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in the third bowl.
Cooking
- 3
Coat the Green Beans
Dredge each green bean in the flour, shaking off the excess, then dip it into the beaten eggs, followed by coating it in the seasoned breadcrumbs. Make sure the green beans are well coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers. You can test it by dropping a small piece of breadcrumb into the oil; if it sizzles, it’s ready.
- 5
Fry the Green Beans
Carefully add the coated green beans to the hot oil in batches. Fry them for about 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Once cooked, remove the fried green beans from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm.
