Cheese Sticks
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cheese Sticks
Unwrap the mozzarella cheese sticks and set them aside. Ensure they are cold for easier handling.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate bowls, place the all-purpose flour in the first bowl, beat the eggs in the second bowl, and mix the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in the third bowl.
Breading
- 3
Coat the Cheese Sticks
Take each mozzarella stick and first dip it into the flour, ensuring it is fully coated. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture. Make sure each stick is well covered.
- 4
Chill the Coated Sticks
Place the breaded cheese sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Once all sticks are coated, freeze them for at least 30 minutes. This helps the cheese to stay intact while frying.
Frying
- 5
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 6
Fry the Cheese Sticks
Carefully add a few frozen cheese sticks to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
- 7
Serve
Serve the hot cheese sticks immediately with your preferred dipping sauce, such as marinara or ranch.
