Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, and dried rosemary to create the marinade.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the top sirloin steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, making sure it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Heat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you may add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and allow excess marinade to drip off. Place the steak on the preheated grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Optional Toppings

If desired, add a tablespoon of butter on top of the steak during the last minute of cooking. This will enhance the flavor and create a rich sauce.

  4. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.

  5. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired. Slice the steak against the grain and serve immediately.
