Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Beef Tenderloin
Take the 6 oz. beef tenderloin and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps it cook evenly.
- 2
Cooking
- 3
Preheat the Skillet
In a heavy skillet or frying pan, heat over medium-high heat until hot.
- 4
Sear the Beef
Place the seasoned beef tenderloin in the hot skillet. Sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until a nice crust forms.
- 5
Check for Doneness
For medium-rare, cook until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C). Adjust cooking time based on desired doneness.
- 6
Rest the Beef
Remove the beef from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.
