Method

Beef Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground Angus beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until well combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, approximately 1 inch thick.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, adding cheese of your choice on top during the last minute of cooking.

Burger Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare the Bun

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger bun in half and toast it lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of the toasted bun, place a leaf of lettuce, then the cooked patty with melted cheese. Top with slices of tomato, onion, and pickles. Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then place the top half of the bun on top.
